Sintered tungsten host?
And in case you want some bling... gold-plated sintered tungsten host? It would almost weigh the same as a solid gold host.

Just get any kind of host and a piece of lead, secure the lead peace to the pointer, now it's heavy.

Yeah I done even know if lead can be machined, might be better to cast something like that.

Here's my version of a heavy host, 800 watts of R,G,B (all together) and 32 watts of 455nm (16 lasers in parallel).

More on it here: IR, LED and Laser Project

Go ahead, keep your bright lights shining in my rear view mirror.... this thing draws over 100 amps at 12 VDC. It's a pointer, but too heavy to hold for very long. It can double as a extra terrestrial beacon, guiding UFO's in for a landing in the upcoming invasion, they promised me my own country someday... more likely to be dinner :p OK, I lied... I've never actually communicated with them but just maybe.....

Let me see if I can pull it out of storage and try this coming weekend. I took all of the line lenses off, so the beams should be visible.

Only this but you can't see the blue laser beams with my cell phone camera

MPEG4 11 of 16, IR, LED and Laser Project

WOW!!!! Alaskan, that contraption is the bees knees~!!!! Great job! That looked like it must have been a really fun project. I am always impressed with what LPF members can do. Thanks for posting the video. I hope we get to see more. Well if little green men are out there you should be getting a visit soon with that baby!

The thing of it dude is you need to be practical. Your asking for something that can be built be what is the point of it all? I mean really! Who wants a laser that weights ten lbs. Alaskan build a multi diode I dont know really what to call it but for all intensive purposes a landing beacon for aliens! *IDK* For the sake of argument you want some thing that is dense and heavy. Get a brass host with a copper heat sink then have is gold plated or silver or some thing else that has a high weight point. Lead is TOXIC to the extreme. No one in there right mind would want to work with it for the health risk is to great well you maybe able to get some one in Pakistan or China to do it but they do not care about their health. So please be realistic!
