Now, the moment you all have been waiting for...well about 5 of you but you get the point :p

The following are pictures and dimensions for Ultrasabers "Guardian" empty hilt. I ordered it with the guarded switch hole and also purchased the latching guarded switch. The host can be purchased here in the link below.

Here is the measurement of the distance between the bottom of the button hole and the battery opening hole. The start of the battery opening is not at the first metal part, it starts at the farthest right portion of the thinnest part of the plastic end-cap.

I will be putting my NUBM44 laser diode in 25mm module ran at 4.5 Amps into this host and will be posting my build when its all finished! I am very excited to make this laser lightsaber!!

****UPDATE****
I found out that there is an extra screw cap on the battery end opening... I did not notice it at first because it was soo hard to unscrew (I think they glued it) that I thought it was part of the main body. Apparently not! Here are the pics of a few more dimensions.

Here is the extra screw cap that I finally removed. This is going to make the build muchhh much easier.

Here is the dimension of the inner diameter of the 2nd female screw cap end.

Being able to remove this second screw cap is going to make the build much much easier now that I can fit the main body with a shim of the sort to serve the function of a battery holder now that there is clearance between the OD of the 32650 battery and the host. :D

I guess every man has his moment :p ;)

Cool sabers, should turn out to be a nice build. Looking forward to the final product!

Edit; BTW, your pictures are a little big, I would suggest resizing them. Try Tinypic, it gives you a "resize" option as you upload.

Yeah ... I'll come back when the pictures fit on something smaller than a 4K TV.

FYI - Imgur has resize options too - that's where the OP has uploaded them already.

haha okay I'll resize them when I get some time, sorry my camera has too many megapixels

Please resize the pictures---is impossible for anyone look at them they are beyond too large--very annoying

The recommended size for jpg's is 800x600 pixels

Will look again

Nice pictures! I can't wait to see your final result.
As a side note, I got my Feilong 32650 batteries today and can confirm that they are small enough to fit inside of an Ultrasabers hilt. :)

Okay I resized everything to 768 x 432 pixels. I also added hyperlinks to the giant 16 megapixel pictures. I hope this suits you all well, please let me know :D:beer:

Just letting you guys know, Sta more-so than others because there is an extra end-cap that can be screwed off in addition to the battery screw cap. I put some extra pictures in the main thread under where I wrote "****UPDATE****" so you can find them easily. This will make the build a little more complicated but much easier at the same time because while the batteries will have more clearance I will need to manufacture a battery holder to facilitate an easy exchange and to not have them rattle around in the host. :)

Thanks - though I'll be getting a different host so this may not apply to me. I don't expect the batteries to rattle around even without a battery holder - the inner diameter of most hilts seems to be 33mm, and 32650s are 32.5mm.

Just beware of things like this, I'm pretty sure they glued it in so the far end cap would unscrew only. But yeah I'm excited for your build too! You'll have to make a post explaining it all because I might make another one after this one😊👍

Very Very nice. I have been wanting to do this for some time now. I was originally planning on going through the custom saber shop but went with Ehgemus instead as he was MUCH cheaper. Thank you for doing this and sharing.

Cool host, It should turn out looking pretty sweet with all that blue power coming out of the other end of it!

I just wish we had someone making awesome sci-fi type hosts still around here... or that I had a lathe to brush up and start doing it myself.

Yeah the only thing about custom saber shop is that it is over twice as expensive. They also have an underdeveloped site and it does not look legitimate enough for me as well. They do not have the dimensions for the saber nor any videos of reviews of them either. That is why I went for ultrasabers.

Yeah it will! Right now I have everything set up for the build except I need to go to this motorcycle shop to get the inside diameter turned. There are two inside diameters and the distance where the battery end diameter changes to the smaller diameter is not greater than the distance the batteries will occupy. So my friend at the motorcycle shop said he would turn it for me. After that all I need to do is design and manufacture a battery holder and then put it all together! Should be no more than a few weeks. :D

So you are having to modify the host for your battery fit, or for the laser end of it?

What are you doing for the heatsink/module? Will it directly fit one of the DTR modules or are you doing something custom? I'm interested in one of their cheaper hosts with no electronics.. they look amazing.

I am modifying the battery end ID so the batteries slide all the way in.

Yeah I have the 25 millimeter copper module from DTR and it fits very nicely into the opening at the top of the saber host. The host comes with a locking screw too. So nothing custom on the diode/module end.
