Hi every one, I was wondering if anybody knows if there is a compatible extension tube to suit an Ultrafire fw-501b or 502b host to be able to use 2 x 18650 batteries.

They are a really cool host and I think it would look good extended for a 7.2 volt application.

regards to all

You know what? Stuff it, I'll make my own.

After some research I've found that there are so many knock off's that the chances of finding one with the correct thread is damn near impossible, even the extension tube vendors don't seam to know what they fit and the chances of getting the rite one is a bit of a crap shoot.

I haven't finished polishing yet but here it is, my first 502 host mod, and I'll be replacing the alloy heat sink with a copper one. I'm afraid that my machining skills are a bit shabby but I'm still learning. Man that copper is expensive. I think I'll be looking for tube from now on instead of solid round.

If you find one let me know cause I would love one too! Or you could use two 16340 batteries but I would still like to be able to use 2 18650 !

I can actually get a extended 501B host from my supplier if anyone needs any. It will take 2x 18650 :beer:

Walt;

I have had the same problem looking for a dual 18650 host.

I solved it with a C8 host with extension tube.

I think the C8 is an improvement for my usage.

Yes!! thanks for the input, and I agree with the c8 thingy, I have ordered a Convoy c8 host and extension from FT.

BTW how do you guy keep your copper heat sinks from tarnishing?

Hey, sorry if I'm late to the table, but a while ago I picked up the 504b host and just today got around to machining the heatsink. The heatsink fits snug in the main body and it has a slight shoulder so that as you screw the head of the host down, it tightens the heatsink down onto the shoulder of the main body.

I think I got the host from tmart for $8 or something...

Anyways, here are a couple of shots of it.
