Hey,

I love the aurora C6 host, i've already built two lasers myself on them and I also have one that was built by Blord that's also great

I was talking to Lazereer about buying some X-drives and he kind of convinced me to buy them setted @ 1,8A.

I have never used so much current on my builds and I guess a C6 host heatsink won't be able to handle that much heat from a M140.

Do you have any suggestions of a nice host? One I can fit a heatsinked X-Drive (maybe heatsink it on the back of the diode heatsink) and that isn't expensive?

i'll have some here soon. Mrcrouse is making me some heatsinks right now for hosts. there not to big like a maglite but not small like the c6. it takes 2x25500 cells(c size) and is a side clicky. its got a plastic pill like the guidesman so it will fit the x-drive with no problem. the heatsink has a nice size to it, can fit an entire module with back peice inside the heatsink. i'll have 3 colors blue, black, silver.

awillis, that's a nice host with a heavy heatsink. For how much are you planning selling it?

I made a mistake, i'm getting 1,8A drivers.

$40 + shipping is what i'm hoping on getting. I think there cool host because the battery's will last alot longer then the 16340's that most hosts take.

That's the problem, I can't afford spending $40 on a host... I'm pretty lost, everyone in my city that works with a lathe that could make me a heatsink for a DX flashlight asks $50 for one piece...

I see you want a saik host and heatsink, just so you know I think my host and heatsink is bigger. It might be wider but mine is much deeper. Also overall the build would be simpler to put together as opposed saik.

Is yours bigger then saik's? that seemed to me like a massive heatsink. I'll be spending $35 on a saik, maybe its better to get yours, dont forget to pm me when its available

well if your getting it for $35 your not getting it from jayrob. So my heatsink weights in at 61g and as a little comparison the heatsink that jayrob sells for his 2c maglite weights 82.
the other thing about the saik build is that it takes 3 AA sized battery's which will give you higher voltage where the host I've got takes 25500 battery's which will give it a nice long run time.

here is a little comparison between the c6-s4-this host

it's really up to you but i thought about doing a saik before but passed when i came across these because of ease of build and battery capacity.

That looks great in comparsion to C6, pm me when available

By the way, I'd buy the heatsink from eudamonion and host from DX

If you are looking for a custom heatsink, and don't want to pay a machine shop $50, I can make you one no problem, so keep that in mind next time you are looking for something custom

As for now, stick with Awillis's deal, looks like it'll be a nice kit. Once I get the host that is... I thought it would've arrived by now :/
