Both regulators inside. Have more on the way to fix it.

Re: Peregrine - The Free LPM Interface

I encourage anyone to add datalogging to the nospin LPM
and if I can help let me know

Great job all with the R & D in this project!

nospin

I'm glad you support data logging add ons for your LPM :D I'm having one of your LPM's being sent to me soon to add data logging.

Re: Peregrine - The Free LPM Interface

Good news, everyone!

I've put together the latest build for all four platforms, and have fixed a couple critical bugs. It has not been tested on Linux yet, but I'm hoping that since it's now available, it will happen soon enough.

Here's a copy of the changelog and downloads:

Changelog
  • 1.1.2.6
    • Updated the functionality of connecting and disconnecting so that the graph will not clear unexpectedly.
    • Updated graphing functionality to render gaps in received data.
    • Added additional alerts to pass users more information.
    • Added automatic serial refreshing.
    • Added threading so that computationally intensive processes will not be done on the main thread.
    • Note: I forgot to update the version number; it still says 1.0.4.9.

Downloads

Enjoy!

Happy to do it! :D

Anyone by any chance tested out the Linux version yet?

Re: Peregrine - The Free LPM Interface

I just downloaded this, but I don't have my meter with me so I haven't tried it out yet.

One feature i would like to see is being able to choose where the averaging will start from. I think it is stupid that warm up time counts in the average on laserbee datalogging. Even if it was just a simple check box "start average after 30 seconds" I would be very happy. Better would be being able to drag a vertical line on the graph to the point where you would like to start averaging.

Fun fact - Peregrine already does that! But - even better than what you asked for! :D

When you open the window to create a new measurement, set the threshold at which you want Peregrine to start recording. This allows you to stop warmup time from affecting your average reading. I default the value at 10mW just so that graphing doesn't immediately start, but you can set it to even be something like 800mW if your LPM responds slowly.

Does that help?

Thank you for the donation! Please post any bugs you find in this thread, so that I am shamed into fixing them... ;)

This is a really nice feature!! I like how that works. As for Linux I'll have to setup a virtual box with Linux to try it out!

You could easly just wait 30 seconds before clicking the [Run]
button on your EagleEye Data Logging Screen..;)
Although your suggestion is a good idea for us lazy guys...:D

The way I see it, it's always better to have a feature than to not have a feature. Especially one that makes life easier on your users! :D

It would be really simple to add to EagleEye, why don't you do it? :)

Yeah, he has been programming since we have been in diapers so I mean he should be able to add that feature in a couple of minutes!

FYI... I was programming while you were still in diapers...

Also, while you're at it Jerry, fix the crashing in Windows 7 please! :)

I don't think he made eagle eye though, wasn't it made by a 3rd party, a member here? It may be difficult to add a feature or fix bugs if he didn't make the program. However, if his programming prowess is as good as he claims it is then it should be no problem for him.

I knew I should have waited until I tried it out before I opened my mouth haha. No problem with the donation. You do good work, I figure I can buy your ramen noodles for the week :p

I don't want to start another LPM riot here! :D I have nothing against you Jerry, but I am OCD and that always bothered me. I was under the impression that I would mess up the zeroing if I put a laser on it before I pressed run.

Re: Peregrine - The Free LPM Interface

I'm still having issues exporting the graph. The status bar at the bottom says done after the time expires for the test. The menu pops up just fine but when I click the button nothing happens. That goes for Graph Image and Dataset. Tried deleting the whole thing and re downloading it with the same issue. Any ideas?

Which OS are you running on? What should pop up when you hit 'Save Graph' would be a directory browser. It's tested and working on Windows and Mac OSX - but not Linux.

I'll see if there are any known issues.
