Is Peregrine working? I have downloaded it 3 times and my Mac keeps telling me that Peregrine is damaged and I should put it in the Trash!

No it's not damaged at all. The problem lies in that your security and privacy preferences are set improperly. You need to allow 3rd party programs (open from anywhere)-------------> This will work.
I also have a new version using OpenCL..... v1.5.0.5 .. I'll re-host it.
I already sent you the download link for this so that you can grab it from my google drive.

Ha ha. Yes I know that Mac's are made with the simpleton's of this world in mind. Those people who don't have the brains or the time to have to figure out how to get rid of the latest virus, or work out and wait for their PC to unfreeze, or to wonder why half a dozen different little boxes keep popping up on the screen telling you all sorts of stuff you don't understand but will be able to google when the screen unfreezes. Yeah I no Mac's are not for everyone. Just for those who just want to switch it on and have it work! Lol I just couldn't resist that!:na::na:

I'd be very careful making rush judgements on Mac users...
There are many tiers of users. Myself, I am a developer and Mac hardware hacker. (hacking GK110B based graphics cards including the Titan Z ..etc) Apple may have a simple OS on the front face, but the coding for it underneath is anything but simpleton stuff. I assure you. When I want something to get done, I use a Mac as the OS making work more intuitive. Windows 8.1 though an improvement over Windows 8, still has major bugs. I find that I am fighting windows to run older software even with running the adaption for windows 7.
btw, Under the new edition of MacOSX Yosemite there will be a new coding language introduced, Swift. Already taken a test drive, and like it much

It has only been the last 6 years or so that I have had anything to do with them. When I was in High School computers were something that punched a heap of tiny little holes in a sheet of paper?:wtf: Oh how things have changed!

Then you get the oddballs like me who build a computer that I can boot up in either windows or mac mode. I personally prefer the windows mode but Mac mode serves a purpose as well. As you said, there are all levels of Mac and Windows users. As I have been using both since their very first versions, I have no trouble with either. Troubles with either operating system is located between the keyboard and the chair if you catch my drift!

You're not an oddball, I can assure you. I too have a Hackintosh, a Hackpro
link below. Since this post there have been a few changes. It now runs
with a OC version of the GTX Titan and running 18,700 for the score consistently.
Korean build up and running! i7-3770K (OC) - GA-Z77X-UP5 TH - HD4000+Gigabyte GTX TITAN
:beer: Will be working on a Z97X-UP7-TH (thunderbolt 2) edition using a 4790
sometime in the the next 3 months or so.

Woa....
1) Are you shining a laser when this is happening or is this happening as soon as you turn your unit on?
2) That is certainly NOT OpenLPM data coming from your LPM. (OpenLPM is just numbers)
3) If your unit is just repeating d 10.8 which is indicating an error with your unit. Either bad flash or an actual hardware problem.

I think Trevor changed the protocol actually. The d before the number just indicates it's sending data. Looks normal to me.

The "simple" protocol is the one with just a number.
As for busman's issue, it's a MacOS thing.

Whoops... yah, the OpenLPM does have a d in front, so he is getting data off the meter.. that was extremely bone headed of me. :can:
However,
The application i assure you is not damaged. It's been running fine on my Mac and others
macs for 2 months now. The updated app is running the latest edition of Java.
What version of MacOSX is he running? If below 10.9 x this could be a problem.
edit, looks like a bug within Mountain lion and Mavericks that occasionally causes Java apps to display the damaged application message.
