So... you can make a little speed go a long way, but it does definitely require sacrifices.

Hey, Just found this.stm32plus: ILI9481 TFT driver | Andys Workshop
And it is doing 15Fps even with debugging code dragging it behind.
Without debugging he is getting 40Fps and up.

Yep - it's amazing what you can get with a parallel LCD and an FSMC. You'll need a chip beefier than what is on the Teensy or the Maple though.

It certainly warrants experimentation.

Yeah, I think Teensy is not beefy enough for the job.
But, aren't Maple using STM32F103 running at 72MHz though? I am confused....

To run at the speeds mentioned on Andy's site, you'll need a chip with an FSMC - neither the IC on the Teensy nor on any production version of the Maple offers one.

The Maple boards do, however, have enough I/O to drive an LCD with just GPIO.

Sorry, I should have explained better.

Now... an ARM LPM?

I was considering going over working on a GLCD like the Rubicon, and probably discussing using an external ADC?

Probably button interfacing too, but that's super easy.

Trevor
Yes please.

For all.
