That is a good point. Maybe I'll feed some voltage into the Bee to try to figure out where the Knee's are to avoid them.

Start very, very, very low. 0.000V preferably.
Walk it up in increments of no more than 5mV at a time until you get a feel for how large the mW jump is, then do not exceed a reading of 3.2W so that you ensure you don't damage the hardware.

Good Point....
Any voltages above anything the supplied LaserBee Thermopile is
rated at that are injected into a LaserBee product may damage
the input circuitry and will void any warranties...
That's an obvious no brainer...:beer:

Well I didn't test for the knee's in the graph, but here's some data. I moved both sensors further away from the laser (50cm), I moved the bee to a chair below the table and I used two 9V's for the Ophir power supply. The changes seem to have improved the bee's readings. The Ophir readings are now much more like I expected as well.
I got lazy and I didn't want to wait for the laser to reach perfect equilibrium each time
These give a good idea of what numbers I'm getting though.
I didn't zero the Ophir either, so -6mW from each reading on the Ophir.

Oh, Canada.
imho, as you have thermal sensors you observed a fan effect during the first measurements.
If you have time and desire, you may use a beamsplitter to reflect only a portion of beam power to a sensor. The noise should be much large if a blown air still effects senors. :san:

Perhaps. I will be sending my Ophir off to someone with a +/-1% LPM for re-calibration. Then we will see which LPM is off.

I measured it to be 10% off myself, but the laserbee was picking up noise then, so give or take 2%
