I only see two black boxes, i suppose there should be graphs there or something?

As for ADC resolution: 16 bit would be plenty with scaling (6.5 watts in 0.1 mW steps) if you did use opamps to scale it. But if the 22 bit part is not much more expensive it can save you an opmap and some passives possibly compensating the cost and saving space as well.

The arduino's ADC's are low on resolution for a good meter, though it can be done using two them and a divider network. You would get ranges like on a multimeter, something like 0-1 watt in 1 mW steps and 10 mW steps beyond that up to 10 watts etc. As those analogreads are pretty slow i'm not overly sure it would be practical.

That is embedded youtube, it's strange that the video doesn't loaded, but the flash has been loaded. even on the OP it's just become a black box :wtf: maybe the forum changes its internal feature? (as a days ago i'm visiting forum and it's on maintenance)

here is the youtube link:

That's true, saving cost and space must me maximized in this case.

Thread updated.

Added:
Response time for the slower sensor (10x10mm or 8x8mm):

Slow_speedtest.png

As you can see from the graph above:
  • Sensor response time 0-90%: ~20 sec
  • Sensor response time 0-100%: ~40 sec

Compared to the default sensor (6x6mm version, from the graph below):
  • Sensor response time 0-90%: ~4-6 sec
  • Sensor response time 0-100%: ~10-12 sec

Still waiting on some customer service on my LPM. E-Mail, IM, forum reply, anything...

The leads on the sensor were over twisted and broke right at the sensor, I can't solder it without damaging it.

This LPM is currently useless to me and I have waited several days, IMs and forum messages trying to get a replacement...

I normally wouldn't go the public rout but I bought my LPM months ago, got it, used it for a day when it broke and have gotten the run around for over a month since about just getting a replacement sensor sent my way.

I received the replacement sensor today, thanks for using fast shipping.

I noticed you made several improvements and a critical change.

You changed the female plug that would have connected directly to my board/meter to a male plug.

I would need a female/female extension to test/use this new style sensor...

Please send appropriate components so I can use my meter...

You know that little plug costs very little. Are you willing to wait for him to send one while Walmart probably has them for a couple of bucks? You could be using your meter tomorrow. Just saying.

Edit: BTW, double post.

Edit: I found the f/f extension that was originally included with my meter.

My mistake.

I'll get working on my evaluation.

The meter looks to be working as it did before the first sensor failed.

Still waiting to do my review, I'm getting zip for communication with the seller so I can't go any further with it.

Is this thing now DOA?

Anybody heard from astralist in the last few months?

An extra $50 and Ebay is very good about protecting buyers.

At the same time this forum and it's members, are apparently not important enough to communicate with...

Right.. I got mine fairly quickly with only a few bumps in the road with tracking not working, but that is my situation and not others, I can only assume the best, until I saw him put some on E-Bay! :/

it's PayPal that ultimately protects you...;)

How quickly did you get your LPM from him ??
