Hi guys, you will have to pardon me, I have been absent for quite some time. When I started visiting there was quite some debate on whether or not it was even possible to use flashlight driver to power laser diode (which I was proponent for) and the only LPM available where commercial options, and 1 or 2 sellers here such as the fine LaserBee products (which I have one)
I guess I digress, but my point is I am not up on the latest doings on the board. I am aware that it is not unusual now to DIY your own laser power meter. I would guess the biggest challenge is obtaining a quality thermopile and proper calibration. My question is, has anyone come up with, or is it feasible to develop a LPM head that would interface with my DMM via the K type thermocouple connection, rather than messing with a circuit board and LCD display etc? Would that also allow it to interface with data logging meter for computer options?
Or am I just so out of the loops things have already progressed this way?
Thanks!
