Default Anyone Heard of This Laser Precision Corp LPM Sensor?

So, to make a long story short, I built a nice green 520nm build for this guy. It's a PLP520-B1 with a nice big copper module and heatsink running one 18650 to an X-Boost. It hit just under 250mW. I will post pics in the morning(it's 2am here), and I may end up putting it up for sale here, so if you're interested, PM me. So he ends up not being able to come up with the money. He has been very nice, and I trust him as much as anyone I've never met, so I'm not really too bothered by it. He says he has some LPM heads, and I've been wanting to get a higher capability LPM before I build the new NUBM44. The snipped message below is from him. Does anyone have any information about this head? I've Googled my heart out, and can't find anything. Help me out, my LPF comrades!

"I do have the p/n of the detector heads ,the LPC is Model RT-150CHD s/n 139, weighs 4-1/4lbs. I assume the 150 means 150 Watts has both miniature +/- Red/Black female jacks and BNC conn. Active spot is ~15mm and a post mount binding screw. Anodized Alum. with 9 cooling fins.
I'll get the Coherent next week, will be completely booked..."

I couldn't find anything matching the head either but sometimes you can't. Anyone could have made that head and it could be designed for any wavelength. Though at a little over 4lbs I'm inclined to believe it was used for 150W lasers. Naturally without a datasheet there isn't much information you can go on since you can just claim anything. If anything you should ask him when the last time his meter was calibrated.

I'm just curious though. What is the reason you were looking for all of this data? Were you thinking about doing a trade for it?

Correct, but I wouldn't trade unless I knew it was something I could make use of that was actually accurate. I could find a few listings for it on a couple sites, but the few that listed the model number had no information or pictures on it at all.

Here are some pictures. Also, I asked him to tell me what all was on the plate, as it wasn't quite clear enough to read:

Sure, it starts with the Model# I emailed to you originally:
RT-150CHD
S/N 139
Order RE2069
The knob under the BNC and mini jacks is the binding knob for the 1/2" rod mount.
It came from Laserscope so should of been taken care of in a laboratory environment.
I assume the '150' in the model# is the power rating in watts and sure looks it, a monolithic
aluminum heat sink machined from solid bar stock and weighing in at 4-1/4lbs.
The Coherent head weighs 3-2/3lbs.

The sensor is completely trashed. All of those scorch marks will affect "any" calibration you try to do reguardless of wavelength. You will have no way of knowing how much those scorches will affect your calibration. Not to mention you need very stable lasers of each wavelength (and some in between) that you plan to use to get an accurate calibration.

To be honest I would just leave it go. Save your money and get a nice OPHIR sensor. It's really not worth the trouble unless you really need the extra overhead in power reading.

Yea, he said he would trade it as a $75 value against my 235mW 520nm build. I want something that I can verify calibration and use without worrying about it becoming less accurate. I would be worried about both of these probably every time I used them. Lol. So yea, if anyone has any LPMs available for trade, I've got a 235mW 520 available!

Lol the thought crossed my mind. I actually just purchased this Ophir DG-HH, which is 10 watt capable. It has some marks itself, but it's in much better condition than those two and has been verified against an Ophir with a fresh calibration. And the marks appear to be mostly on just the outer surface.

Default Re: Anyone Heard of This Laser Precision Corp LPM Sensor?

Well I received it yesterday, and it is more accurate than I expected. I've tested it with several different lasers, and it has been within 5-10 mW on all of them when compared to my Laserbee 3.7W USB. Very satisfied with this purchase.

The only issue with it is the internal battery. It's dead, so I simply have to keep it plugged in while using it. Doesn't bother me, but if I could replace the battery, I certainly would. Does anyone know if these batteries are replaceable?
