X-drives are made by lazeerer and are the best around. You can also take a look at foulmists IDRV3 drivers. They are thad cheaper and are great too!

They are very good.

They have got the softstart feature integrated which protects your diode from dieing from current spikes when you turn it on and have got a low current ripple too.

Also they are super efficient over 97% for the buck driver and avaiable in very small packages.

IMO they are one of the best drivers.
Of course they aren't as cheap as linear drivers, but they are good priced for what they do.

SO for $25 for a 2.2A you think is a good price?

Id rather go with a good one than a cheaper one and have to replace it later on down the road.

Another question I would like to ask is Im actually going to be building like 5 laser for a few friends who want some.
If I wanted to just pick up some drivers and set them myself, how exactly do I go about doing that and testing them?

Or are these basically just already at a set level when you purchase them?

If you want to buy some just send lazeerer a PM. Hes very kind and will answer you questions about his drivers. :)

They are already avaiable for all values you need for the most diodes we use.

Of course you can set them yourself if you need a special output for an uncommon diode or a value you found by plotting you specific diode, but you have to be familiar with smd soldering in order to do that.

You can ( should be done always for safety) test the output with a testload and a DMM. Just search the forum if you want to buy one.

IMO you should really explain and show your friends how dangerous they are and which procetion they need :)

I went ahead and contacted him about his drivers to hopefully get half a dozen.

Heres a question though, I have no idea what a DMM is or how to testload a driver or anything like that.

I can by the components and build the lasers but when it comes to test equipment Im a straight up noob.

DMM is short for Digital Multi Meter ;) and for testloads are many threads in this forum just search for them :)

X-drives are the best I highly recommend them.
Heres a good DMM in case you dont have one New Digital LCD Multimeter XL 830L Voltmeter Ammeter Ohmmeter Ohm Volt Tester | eBay i have one myself it works great for the price.

Thanks, Great price for that but I do have a pretty nice one. Actually spent over $100 on mine i got for school a few years back.
Also have a cheaper one for smaller things I do I paid about $25 for.

I did contact lazeerer thought and will hopefully be picking up 4 drivers.
1x 1.8a for a 445 diode
1x 2a for a 445 amp
1x for the PL520 but not sure of size yet cause ive never build a green laser before
1x for a red laser but again, ive never built a red one before and have no idea for what.

Also picked up 5 c6 host from survival laser and hopefully picking up 4 different custom host from sinner. Almost set with everything I need!

Wish I just had a way to test how powerful these were...
