Hi guys, recieved my olike driver from here

1W 445nm laser diode driver / 200mW 405nm laser diode driver [OL-445-D] - $14.99 : Welcome to O-Like.com, Your source for laser products

It looks like a case positve driver to me, what do you think?

Also just had this convo on msn with them..
Ped says:
hi, i recieved my order, # 1320 , everything is fine with it many thanks, i have a question though maybe you can help?
laser says:
ok
laser says:
what laser

Ped says:
its was this 1W 445nm diode / 200mW 405nm laser diode driver

Ped says:
how do i change it from 1.1w 445nm driver, to a 200mw 405nm driver?

laser says:
You can connect 405nm diode

laser says:
that is ol
laser says:
ok
laser says:
output voltage is rated

Ped says:
so i dont have to change/ solder anything on the driver?

laser says:
yes
laser says:
you can try

Ped says:
im sorry i dont understand, does that mean i DONT have to change anything on the driver?

laser says:
yes

Ped says:
ok thanks

So it looks like thier saying you can swap and change diodes as you wish, with no driver adjustment needed, is this right? there is some nifty circuitry on the other side of the board, i'll post pics later.

Hey Ped,

I had that convo with Susie too, except via email.

Going by what she's said, the driver will automatically switch between drive modes depending on the voltage drop of the diode, to give 1.1A (for 445nm diodes), and however-many mA for 405nm diodes (check the Vf/Po graphs for details).

I'm assuming the driver detects the voltage drop of the diode, and adjusts accordingly. I guess it just can't boost to the voltage levels required by the 10 and 12x diodes.

Yes, the driver is case positive. The positive wire goes to the diode's positive pin, alternatively, you can bridge the positive pin to the case to make the diode case positive (rendering the driver/diode assembly a drop-in replacement for 12mm green modules)

Hope this helps,

got mine to and it surely would have been nice if it had a instruction manual with it...now i just gotta wait on some more diodes --_--
