I guess I just thermal epoxy it to the back of the diode? Doing that makes the most sense to me, but I haven't seen it described anywhere. Before I attach one to this $100 diode I'd like to be sure... Looks like a real tight fit, wires and thermister.

Thanks for any help!

I believe you've misspelled the title. Is that helpful?

You can just glue or tape it there. The heat won't be flowing through the thermistor, so it doesn't need high thermal conductivity to it unless the load changes temperature often and drastically.

What driver are you using that utilizes a thermistor?

It hasn't arrived yet, but the BlackBuck 8a.

Thanks a lot for your help. I really do appreciate you taking the time for a newbie like me. I'm building an etcher and thought the controlling the plotter would be the difficult part. Learning about lasers has been the best port of the project so far. Though I wish I wasn't in such a hurry at the start, didn't really dig into anything until I had to wait for parts to arrive. If I knew more, I wouldn't have bought the NUBM44, for example.

Anywho, thanks again for your time and knowelege.
