Well I'm having a lot of issues with mine... hence why I haven't put them up for sale. LaserLuke's layout is a lot better. The schematic is pretty much the same anyway.

Alright bro chill out... Who said I'm copying your design? I started this project in November last year... I'm not copying anyone!

Adrian,

I meant releasing the schematics here if your designs are so similar.

Luke,

what if adrian worked on his design prior to themrelease of your original schematics? Just curious.

Adrian isn't copying Luke,

He asked me for help last year, I know he was doing this so it's before luke's.

Luke, sorry bro but the layout is the only thing that might not be copied or the schematic exactly the way you posted it..

These are parts that are commercially available for everyone to use for commercial or private purposes.. Whatever one suits him.

No offense to anyone just saying.

Also I wanna point out if you post something to a forum, it becomes property of the public domain. If you are worried about people manufacturing your design... why post it? That doesn't make sense to me.

Anyway... I'm not here to fight or copy anyone. I'll just keep working on my own design.

The same schematic with the same components and the same values...
And all of this now that the driver is completed and tested thanks to the contribution of foulmist...
There is a lot of work and knowledge to make a functional design.
Do we want to believe in fairy tales?

Adrian,
do you need an obvious answer?
Here it's ready:
I'm not worried about people manufacturing my design but only by people that try to make profit with my work

If you read it correctly I said I have been having issues with MY design hence why I haven't put them up for sale.

Also to clear up a few things.. I had my design already done before you posted yours. I did how ever use your resistor values and added the diode as you suggested in your other thread to run a simulation and see how it compares to my results. This also generates a 3D model of the board which I included in my post. You may have noticed the 5 hour gap in our posts... This was time for me to read your threads and try out the values.

I also have another design using the an LTC chip...

Just chill out mate.

Default Re: square buck-boost driver (TPS63020 and LT6106)

Perhaps all future opensourced driver layouts should be released under public license similar to GPL. And all issues with prior art and such could be dealt later so that this kind of situation would not arise?

No, that is not necessary... What needs to happen is people need to learn to not assume things without knowing all the facts.

You are right but this is a forum for hobbyists with a pretty useful and informative first front, and with a second one more commercial because it's not easy for everyone to mount a board and someone could offer the mounted board for money. It's natural and obvious.
Probably what made me angry was the first statement "wow, i was working before you to a driver that curiously has the same schematic of yours..." and so on.
However i'm happy that this driver is working good and that many persons are interested.
This is a pm that bobhaha sent to me on 05-10-2012:

If you could help me out that would be awesome!

I'm using the LTC3113 and I can't seem to get it to work in constant current mode. I tired to use your trick with the LT6106, but I don't think I'm setting it up right.

Datasheet here http://cds.linear.com/docs/Datasheet/3113f.pdf

Would you be able to walk me through the design of this driver?

Thanks in advance!
-Adrian

Maybe I'm having troubles with it because of LTSpice? Do you think this program is suitable for modeling these schematics?

Would you like to look over my design so far? Or can you point me in a (any) direction for more information so I can help myself. I do not want to be a burden to you.

-Adrian
Don't worry, you're welcome
I think that LTSpice is a good tool because the supplied models are quite accurate.
The problem is that you have choosen a tricky device with a double pole response and error amplifier with type III compensation. Maybe there is a lot of work to do to interface with a current sensing circuit and the converter's specifications are not so exceptional (5.5V 3A).
Are you absolutely sure of your choice?

It would be nice if bobhaha to be my friend again
-Luke
