Hey guys I am actually not asking this question in regards to a laser but I feel that it very well could apply to one. I purchased a M18L taser that runs off of 8xAA batteries. I would like to get some quality rechargeable AA batteries that can handle high drain.

I actually have my 500mw 405nm running off of 2xAA so I would be using them in there too.


I found this review recommending sanyo's eneloop.

Thanks! I am up in the air between the regular and the XX now.

Also where do you get your from? I am trying to shop around price wise and they seem to be all over the place

I prefer sticking to the regular ones for general use. I get mine from various places when convenient

The new technology Zn-Ni batteries at 1.6 volts work very well you need the appropriate charger which doesn't cost much, they are 30% higher voltage than Ni-Mh. Or Ni - Cd batteries as to brand I'm just using cheapies its the type of battery that seems to be making a difference rather than the brand

I was also looking at the Zn-Ni batteries but I went with the eneloops. I ordered a 4-pack of the XX's and I want to test them in my AA lasers and see if there is a difference between the regular AAs I am using.

Why do you need rechargables for this? How often are you going to be tazing people?

Maybe once a week depending on my mood! lol

The reason I want rechargeable batteries is because of the amount of batteries it uses. If i decide to pull it out and watch it spark a couple times just for pure amusement I don't want to be questioning how much battery life is left and then feel the need to throw 8 more batteries in. I also would like a better preforming battery then the your standard AA.

I am also interested in them for the my 405nm that uses AA batteries.

To a certain extent, his statement is valid because Alkalines and Ni-Mhs' capacities can't really be determined by an open circuit voltage. You need a load to be able to accurately determine the voltage, unlike lithium ions.
