Quick question about 16340's

So, I plan on buying a 100mW 532nm laserbtb laser tomorrow. I need to sleep on it first :/

That being said, their HL unit takes 16340 batteries, not 18650's. I know mAh determines how long the battery can last and I so far have had no problem with my 3000mAh 18650 batteries but I see 16340's are around 300mAh-500mAh? What?

How long can I expect this to last? Only 300mAh seems very low :/

Edit: Seems there are some 700mAh ones too!

I guess it really depends on the driver. The 808nm diodes have a low Vf and if the driver is efficient, it should give you a decent amount of time between charges.

The highest capacity I've seen from a reputable and reliable source was ~800mAh. I'd assume they could be a lot better if the cells were more popular. 18650s are only a bit more than twice the volume, but they can have way more than twice the capacity. They're way more popular though.

On the LaserBTB order, would you consider a group buy to split the high shipping costs? I'm sure a few members would be interested (me included). I think Pman said he wanted something from them too. :D

Ooooooo sure, I wouldn't mind a group buy. However, don't want to wait months & months lol. I will be moving soon so won't be buying it until later May/Early June :)

Yeah. I think we'd just have to see who is interested within a deadline. I'm going to be moving for school in August, so I'd definitely like anything I order to be in before then. I couldn't wait around for the typical group buy.

Also guys, quick question.

Im on the fence about whether or not to buy myself that HL532 tomorrow. Im moving on the 20th of May which means it would have a little over a week to get to me! I know DHL is pretty quick and gets stuff to me within 3 days, but laserbtb says processing time is like 3-4 days.

Should I risk it? If I buy it it's going to be a very, very tight window before I move!

I wouldn't risk it. I've ordered from good Chinese sellers using DHL express plenty of times. Sometimes I'm pleasantly surprised with just under a week to the US. Other times it takes nearly three with all the same services. Pretty sure it's on the sellers' end though. Maybe order to the new address in a few days?

Yeah, I'll play it safe and wait until im at the new address. I was going to get rid of my Xbox and buy it, which may be something I regret later!

Be patient Alex

The best rated brands that I tested were AW and Efest for 16340's. Nitecores are also very good but cost more than the other brands.

For a 100mw with a 1/2 watt pump it won't be a big deal.
I have lot's of 532' in the 100-200 range and any decent 16340's will be fine.
