For the 100-312mA range, the end resistor is removed (hence the white X on it in the PDF). For the 108-412mA range, it remains on the board.

The v4 needs a resistor removed from the pcb but the v5 don't. I don't see a white x on the pdf.

Interesting. The PDF has indeed changed.

Hmm, the 100-312 range shouldn't be there., it's now about 100-412 without removing the resistor.

Which range setting do you recommend for a LOC or LCC red diode at 412mA ?

You want the highest in the range for maximum efficiency . So you want your setting to be on the high end of the range, so the middle one. Hope that helps
