So I own all Nitecore batteries until recently when I purchased some Panasonic and Sanyo 18650's.
I have been wanting to buy some quality 18350 and 16340 batteries but all there is is either crap-fires or Nitcores. Does Panasonic and Sanyo not make these sizes? Is there another brand on par with the quality of Nitcore-Sanyo's in this size?

I am planning to make a detailed thread comparing the different specs of each company according to my Opus for 18650 batteries but would like to include these other sizes too.

I got some AW 18350s that I am pleased with. if the unit in question can fit 18350s instead of 16340s I recommend it

You might try "Efest" or "KeepPower" or "Olight". Efest are ok for sure but I don't know about the others. In those 2 sizes all I have are those genetic blue ones (garbage), Trustfire (better), Efest (best of the 3), so I can't say for sure about other brands, there isn't as much to choose from in those 2 sizes. I buy all of my batteries here: Illumn.com - Flashlights, Batteries, Carry Gear, Intelligent LED Lighting, and More!

AW (Andrew Wan) is a Chinese battery reseller based in Hong Kong. His company buys large lots of battery cells from the better Japanese battery manufacturers. He is aware that not all batteries leave the factories of equal quality, so he and his staff inspect and test each individual battery for quality and performance. Only the top tier are wrapped in the red shrink wrap with the holographic AW logo sticker.

I have some 16340 that claim to be 2000mAh:

The Mxjo I have never heard of, in the 3rd photo I can see they are made in China, that doesn't necessarily mean anything though.

I will do a full testing on each battery and we can see how they rate compared to each other on each spec. Should be good info to have around for battery geeks like myself.

Just be aware that every make has it's fakes - the better the make the more fakes. AW said that every seller on alibaba was selling fake AWs!

I believe you can ask them for a list of US dealers to be sure you're getting non-fakes.

I also use the AW IMRs from lighthound. They work great for me in all my lasers and vaping devices.

I have used Efest 18350s with good results so far. One tip (I'm sure most know anyway ;)) if you are connecting two in series (for a 7.4V - 8.4V supply) and struggling for connection with flat-tops is to use a thin (0.5mm x 10mm dia) neodymium disc magnet (plenty on eBay) to ensure good contact and a better alternative to tin foil.

Would a blob of solder work as well? Seems like an easier cheap solution.

Thanks nw, I've found that site also comes in real handy when you've got a potential build, or a host that might have battery fit problems. It let's you see at a glance what may, or may not work. :)

Could be done but I would steer clear given the heat transfer to the battery. I bought 20 magnets for about $4.
