Default Proper Driver set up?

Hey guys, Can anyone walk me through the proper way on how to set up a BlitzBuck V4 to about 1.7A with a DMM?

Also I plan on running it off of 2 x CR123A batteries, would this work for powering a M140 Diode?

Thanks in advance guys I'm still in the process of learning.

You're going to need lithium ion 3.6v. 16340 or 18350.
The 3v will not work. And most driver supplier will preset your current. I am not familiar with how to set it myself as I have been spoiled

You'll need to buy or make yourself a test/dummy load to set the driver to your desired current.

Go to dtr laser. Look around. Check out M140 pre-wired driver module.

You need something to mimic the diode in order to set the current accurately. It might be better just to get a preset driver.

Would you recommend the 1.8A that Skeez used as opposed to the BlitzBuck V4 just for ease if set up? I know the Blitz is fairly new.

Absolutely. Preset is so much easier. Solder to leads and go. If you looking for the same results as skeez , I would follow it to the word.

They are the same price.. I think it would save me head aches and money because I wouldn't need a dummy load. What's the duty cycle and reliablity at a constant 1.8A amps I plan on making a few of these bad boys

I agree. He will also help you if you just tell him exactly what you're goal is. I think I've recommended him to you before
Duty cycle depends on the heat dissipation ability of the host.

In a small build maybe 1min. Large buildup to 5min.

C6 with standard heat sink is my goal so maybe a 1min per cycle. Thanks for the help! I'm really looking for the disposable battery option it's convenient

It may run the laser but not at the power desired. It would be substantially less if at all.

Well 2 of those batteries offer 6V the range of input to the pre set driver is 4.2-8.4

The C6 houses two CR123A batteries
