What voltage are you running on the driver, and what curernt? Did you alter the driver's current?

If you are hearing noise, you are usually out of spec in either A.) Voltage or B.) Current

If you turn the current up, and have a HIGH Vf diode hooked up to the driver and a battery less than 4.2v it will whine trying to make the current, and the voltage. I have had great luck up to 2.4A with good LG HG2 cells and little to no heat what-so-ever at 4.2v - 3.7v and 1.8A

Guess it all depends!

Also, with the LPC-826 you really need to keep it below 500mA, I offered to send you my drivers made for those; they work great and have a max of 750mA and soft-start for those drivers. It's not a boost, just a simple linear regulator with a pot adjustment on it.

Sorry about the driver; should write me for some tips on it if you want, otherwise I can refund if your not happy! Thanks for feedback!

All good man. It is a beta and . I was running 1 cell. Its actually a square lipo pack with 4000mAh from a vape box I took apart. I didn't adjust anything on the driver just hooked it up to power and heard the mosfet noise and saw the output fluctuating. After some observation time I did turn the pot but didn't see much difference. The second driver is working great. I will hook up the troubled driver to my test load and see if something revealing happens. The reds just don't like me lol. I will be getting a JL 1w 650nm soon to fill that slot.

btw you cannot test these accurately on a test load with a wire wound resistor, the driver will not read correctly.

Huh? You might be flying over my head. What are you talking about? I have the SL 20a test load. Ok or no go?

Cannot test switching regulators with wirewound resistors.

Also, beware of using the much more common wirewound power resistors for any test load connected to a driver that has an active switching device (FET, regulator IC, bipolar transistor, ect). Wirewound resistors behave as inductors when pulsed current passes through them. This can become highly reactive if the drive frequency hits near one of many resonance points, and would likely destroy the driver! Always try to use a purely resistive metal oxide coated or carbon high power resistor for a load resistor in that sort of circuit.

I know most of you guys trying these out plan to adjust them, but I do set them properly and test on M140's (unless it's meant for something else) and I have 3 drivers working great right now. Chrisbee's will be shipped next; Just ran some testing trials on it this weekend.. have switched off+on around 100 times and driven off one LG HG2 cell.. It's stout.
