I remember we had quite a bunch of optical components in diafilm slide sized holders, including gratings, polarizers and monochromatic filters. Sadly i have no idea where those came from, but i think they were pretty old even back then. Perhaps produced in the 70s or 80s - not totally sure.

I'm not really sure what those actually are.. '4 angle' seems a bit odd, and there is no mention of the line density or anything like that.

They also look pretty clear to me, while typical gratings are about 50% grey.

Not even close. You want a grating that is going to give you a spread from the 0th order maxima to the 1st, 2nd, etc. This will be a grating like the one Benm gave you a link to. The glass ones are the ones that seem gray, while these are clear. Since they are clear, one can use fairly high powers without causing damage to the grating. "High power" is a relative term.

Edit: the cheap glass ones are not etched into the glass, but are overlaid with plastic grating onto the glass.
