Hi, I recently took apart a ps3 and got a blu ray laser diode out of it, so I decided i'd build a laser. I haven't built one before so I did a little research and figured out that this particular diode isn't very strong. I decided i'd want a little more power so I decided im going to buy 405nm 300mW blu-ray laser diode speed X6 blu-ray diode #1 | eBay
and also an an aixiz holder with the glass lense. I'm just wondering what a good driver would be for that power, and what voltage i'd need to power that driver. I'm making this laser as a desktop one, so space isn't an issue. Also, is that diode even worth the money, or should I be looking into other diodes? I want to do some burning.

Check out this site: https://sites.google.com/site/dtrlpf/home/diodes . The guy is a trusted member on the forum and I've personally purchased from him before:D On the page theres an option that you can purchase a 12x 405nm doide pressed in an aixiz housing with leads soldered on. Theres also an option that includes a diver with a customizable current he can set for you. Sounds like exactly what you're looking for. Good luck on your build:)
