Hey, I'm pretty new to building lasers and I bought a TTl driver so I could use that feature later. My question is if I can rig it to be constantly on until I want to use that part of the driver.

Tie a 1K resistor from Driver + input to TTL modulation input.

Just tried that and it didn't work
Is there a chance that wouldn't work or is it just me

What driver do you have? Take a picture of your setup please. As suggested above, a resistor connected between the modulation input and the driver input should work.

It may be the type that has an inverted ttl input, so you actually need to pull it low (1k between input and ground would be fine). You can try doing both as neither would harm the driver and one of them should work.

Some of these drivers are designed such that they output current if the control input is left open, other are designed not to, but this can be very variable, and some make a mess of things with the enable input left floating open.

I'm willing to bet Benm is right on this! I've had to do the same thing with one I bought a while back on ebay
