Has anybody seen the new INR high drain battery tech ?

Here's how it stacks up against two other top rated IMR 26650 batteries......

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Efest IMR 26650 4200mAh 35A (CDC) / 50A (Pulse)

NEW 2016 Efest Batteries

These are the new version of the Efest IMR 4200 mAh battery. They will really pump out the high current at 35A continuous, 50A pulse, and

4200mAh total capacity. These efest 26650 batteries have been awesome in our testing, being able to handle some serious current while going at

it for a long time. Note these seem to be ~67mm long despite the Efest spec, make sure your device has the space for them

• Size: 26650 (26.22mm diameter x 65.11mm long)
•Type: Li-Mn IMR (Rechargeable)
• Rated Capacity: 4200mAh
•Max Discharge Current (Continuous): 35A
•Max Discharge Current (Pulse): 50A
•Voltage: 3.7V
•Peak Voltage: 4.2V
•Protected: No
•Style: Flat Top
•Weight: 100g
•Color: Purple
•Rated storage temperature: 20-60 C

Basen IMR 26650 4500mAh 40A (CDC) / 60A (Pulse)

We've searched far and wide for the best 26650 battery for high current applications like high power lights and e-cigarettes and this is it.

Another nice thing about the Basen 26650 is it's a very short 26650. We measure lengths of 66.2-66.5mm, whereas many 26650's are significantly

longer. That means they can fit better into tight spaces.

• Size: 26650 (26.05mm diameter x 64.4mm long)
•Type: Li-Mn IMR (Rechargeable)
• Rated Capacity: 4500mAh
•Max Discharge Current (Continuous): 40A
•Max Discharge Current (Pulse): 60A
•Voltage: 3.7V
•Peak Voltage: 4.2V
•Protected: No
•Style: Flat Top
•Weight: 100g
•Color: Black/Gold
•Rated storage temperature: 20-60 C

IJOY INR 26650 4200mAh 40A (CDC) / 85A (Pulse)

The new king of high discharge 26650 batteries is this IJOY 40A battery. This is the best 26650 size battery for high power lights and e-

cigarettes and other very high current applications. The voltage drop is very low at high C rates, much better than any other 26650.

•Size: 26650 (26.22mm diameter x 65.11mm length
•Type: Li-Ni (High drain rechargeable)
•Typical capacity: 4200mAh
•Max Continuous Discharge Current: 40A

You forgot to copy the internal resistance from the advertisement. Could you please provide that stat. Also if you could find out if these are rewraps or not. Who actually makes these batteries?

They didn't provide any internal resistance figures, Sorry....

But they did say.......

As always, you can trust Liion Wholesale to have tested random samples from each and every batch to make sure all the batteries are fresh and genuine. We have an agreement with IJOY themselves and buy only manufacturer direct for these so the chances of issues are small, but we test anyway. You won't get that with most suppliers.

Warranty: Satisfaction guaranteed, if your battery is DOA or you think there's a problem with it just let us know within 14 days of your order and we'll make it right.

This is where I get my batteries from, The shipping is very fast ! https://liionwholesale.com/collections/batteries

What about pricing?

$10.50 ea

Not bad for all that beef..Same as a 18650 AW.
Don't have any builds yet capable of one nor any 26650 but it sure make you want to build one around one.

iJoy 26650 4200mAh 40A --overrated--only good for use at 30A but good battery for @$10.50 each -- from test results : https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/threads/ijoy-40a-4200mah-26650-bench-test-results-overrated-but-a-great-30a-battery.764411/

"Bottom Line: This iJoy cell's 40ah rating is exaggerated. This is incredibly frustrating because it's the first 30A 26650 I've ever tested and no exaggeration was needed! Why the hell do companies like iJoy still think they need to do this to sell batteries?

This is the first 26650 I've tested that acts like an 18650. Its internal resistance is lower than many of the good 18650's and it held its voltage well. At 30A/100W pulsed it ran approximately 75% longer, and 0.15V-0.20V higher, than the Basen and Brillipower 4500mAh cells down to 3.2V. It doesn't match the appearance of any other 26650 I have so I don't know where this cell came from. I am giving this cell a maximum vaping amps (MVA) rating of 40A but the voltage sag is getting pretty bad at this level."

"Comments
•At 10A continuous it reached about 4100mAh. This is good performance for a 4200mAh cell at 10A so I am rating this cell at 4200mAh.
•At 15A continuous the temperature rose to 52°C. This is way below the average temperature of a cell operating at its continuous discharge rating (CDR) and is an indication that we are operating way below its true rating.
•At 20A continuous the temperature rose to 59°C. This is still way below the average temperature of a cell operating at its CDR and is an indication that we are operating way below its true rating.
•At 25A continuous the temperature rose to 69°C. This is still below the average temperature of a cell operating at its CDR and is an indication that we are operating below its true rating.
•At 30A continuous the temperature rose to 77°C. This is just below the average temperature of a cell operating at its CDR and is an indication that we are operating at its true rating.
•At 35A continuous the temperature rose to 83°C. This is above the average temperature of a cell operating at its CDR and is an indication that we are operating at above its true rating. The voltage is sagging a lot.
•At 40A continuous the temperature rose to 85°C. This is above the average temperature of a cell operating at its CDR and is an indication that we are operating at above its true rating. The voltage is sagging a huge amount.
•I am setting a CDR of 30A for this cell. While operating any cell near its rated maximum current level causes damage to the cell, I would expect decent cycle life from this cell at 30A continuous"

The 18650 has more info online about the true manufacturer of the rewrapped cells. With 26650 it's not so clear. Once the new wrap goes on the cell it's all advertising. But we don't pull more than 10amps on our readily available diode and driver setups. I have a Spiker 465nm that only works with a longer cell such as keeppower cells. Does iJoy actually manufacturer these cells like Aspire does? Does it even matter in our hobbies scope?

Looks like IJOY is private label, marketed by : IJOY 26650 battery

You are right---none of the "vape" battery pulse Amp ratings(real or over stated)obsession means much, if anything, to our hobby --vape people are interested in a pulse of 5 seconds on/30 seconds off type tests for vaping purposes. The mAh ratings and continous duty parameters are more applicable to lasers.

Looks like i'll just stick to my first choice.....
Basen IMR 26650 4500mAh 40A (CDC) / 60A (Pulse)

From: https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/threads/26650-battery-bench-test-results-and-new-ratings-table.725452/
Basen Black 4500mAh
" This cell only has an exaggerated 60A pulse rating on the wrap with no continuous rating to be found on the Basen web site. When pulsed at 50A the voltage started at under 3.0V and soon dropped off from there. This is clearly not a 60A pulse cell. But it was one of the top five 26650's I tested and I gave it a 25A continuous (estimated) rating. Its length of 66.4mm means it should fit in the VF Stout without problems."

IJOY is 30A continous.

The claim from the manufacturer of these batteries are they are that LG Chem makes these to particular spec. They are too short for my spiker.

These are the other brand I use KeepPower. These work with the spiker.

Just to show the size difference that makes it or breaks it.

Performance wise I do not notice any difference at all lol. I'm pulling 5amps max.

IJOY is 30A continous.
Like I said, I'm sticking to the Basen IMR 26650 4500mAh 40A, "it was one of the top five 26650's".

Keeppower Black 20A 5200mAh
This cell's performance was at the bottom of the 26650's I tested. It's 20A rating is exaggerated and I gave it a 10A continuous (estimated) rating. Its long length of 67.6mm means some VF Stout users could have problems fitting this cell in their device.
Keeppower 5200mAh is 10A continuous

The Basen are good and advertise

Type IMR26650
Typical Capacity 4500mAh
Voltage 3.7V
Charging Voltage 4.2V
Discharging cut-off Voltage 2.5V
Top Flat top
Max.cont.discharge rate 40A
Max.momentary discharge rate 60A
Internal resistance ≤10 mΩ
Weight Weight 100g(max)
Dimension (D)26±0.3 mm*(L)65±0.2 mm

Operating Temperature Discharge temperature range: -20°C—60°
Charge temperature range: 0°C—45°C

Storage Temperature 1 year: -20°C—25°C
3 months: -20°C—45°
1 month: -20°C—60°C

However I use little digital volt meters on my long duty cycle NUBM44's and the Efest purple IMR 4200mAh is really tough, low sag and long lasting, the MXJO are not bad but not as tough as the Efest in my real world testing.

As you can see in this list there is more than one formulation of their IMR formulation, typically the higher mAh the more sag but these have all done well for me.

I can't wait till we have a diode and driver setup that needs 10+ amp batteries. Those nJoy batteries do look nice. If nJoy actually manufactures these then that's impressive. But for now ill stick with my 3500mah LG's and 5200mah KeepPowers.
