Shouldnt you be able to request a refund since they are not up to spec?

Nah - we're using them way past their specs. They weren't expensive anyway.

More to the point though, does anyone know of any good boost drivers, now that NJGs and AK007s are so scarce ?

Hmm, let me dig up my boost driver plans... I have about 3 designs and one is designed but untested, the others are incomplete... yet.

It may sound like a crazy idea but but why not try to reverse engineer the ak007's and either A) find out why they are being so crappy and B) getting them back up to snuff.

I mean after all we are hobbyists and we are tinkers.

Yeah, I don't think that's a bad idea. Does anybody know what IC the good one has?
Between us we could probably design a similar driver, and probably an even better one.

Even better not likely, more suited to our purpose sure, I bet they still use a PIC 16 something, personaly if you wanted to reduce size I'd switch to a AVR Attiny, with 6 pins VCC,VDD, PWM with RC circuit to make an analog voltage based on duty cycle, PWM to boost fet, and 2 ADC one for current limiting and one to set the current.

sorry for the noob question, and not reading the 5 entire pages, i apoligise.

But so these drivers can be run by a 3.7 battery ? cuz the page states 0.8-1.5v

Can i use these with a 18650, to power a 405nm diode ?

Thx in advance.

It works well, now I have about 15pcs, are used for both the PHR-803T, 12X and 445nm diode. I am currently using it for my diode PHR-803T, has three working modes.

How are you adjusting current? Swapping resistors?

There's a big difference in current requirements between a PHR and a 445.

It is easy to use. When you buy it, will have two wires soldered available corresponding wire rope + and -. The surface of the bottom board has two inputs, respectively, + and -. If so leave the wire - and the top line - bottom, you can open the top of the line by DC is 350mA, and has three working modes, which results in DC when I applied it to my PHR.

Please check.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M7F6c...layer_embedded

But when you use it for 445 12X diode or diode, you must connect the two wires - of both output and input, then, if you use a 14500 battery (I'm using this kind of small), the current measurement up to 1200mA for the diode 445, and 600mA for the 12X.

wait, so these still work for 445nm?!?!
I LOVE the one i have right now.
If you remove the resistor by the cap and bridge it you get 1.4A
i thought they changed them and they no longer worked?

I still use it for my diode 445, and it is working normally. however, I suggest using the battery should be protected, so it would be better for the battery power supply, input voltage representative of the lower driver, referred to battery depletion will easily cause damaged battery or battery explosion. And one more thing that I do not interfere with drivers scratch, and have not found any damage occurs to it.

Yes, it work well. If use for 445nm, have 1300mA max, use for 12X, have 650mA. Very good.
