This type of laser requires very high voltage (~1200 VDC).
Unless you are proficient with high voltage, I would be very cautious.

I suggest you spend a few hours reading about HeNes and the PS needed at Sam's Laser FAQ. That info and a WHOLE lot more is there ..you need a shortcut icon to Dr. Sam on your desktop IMHO.
BTW you can get a nasty shock from that tube even after you detach it from the PS.
