McClicky Tail Switches

I just ordered a couple of the McClicky tail switches to replace the cheap ones that were in a couple of my hosts. With very little modification they fit right in and seem to work very well.

Has anyone put these through any real tests? Do they really live up to their 6A power rating and do they have a long lifetime of many clicks?

I attempted to put one of these in an S4X host. It was very difficult to modify. Unfortunately, over time, because I had to cut away so much plastic, it failed. I tried to do the same thing with SL stainless steel host but was unable to do the modification. Unfortunately, you really need the right tailcap. I have seen other versions of this switch for different tailcaps but was not able to get enough information from the seller to see if they could be modified.

I like al the switches used now by Jetlasers. .. improved from the days of the PL-Cs (a SKY host modded)
the side clicky was wonky. Andover time, especially if you tend to mash rather than press.. the failed.
I expected all to like the unique tailcap 'switch' but one owner actually replaced the one on his JL Ti-B Titanium.


myb he missed the 'click' -- as its more like a piston that makes connection--no clicking no spring in switch.
Just spring to battery end...and it did its job of full on and momentary depending upon how far you turned the tailcap.. which BTW has O-ring and square threads & I am told that is a sign of great craftsmanship.. .. & it is pretty much impossible to cross thread a TI-B. (these had no side switching)
I never really liked the flashlights that you twisted to turn on .. but its not the same with the Ti-B.

While not big or even spendy.. the right switch ,, in the long run is important. good luck

I donno, good luck with them, I had problems when running at 5 amps, maybe I just had a bad one.

I have had switches fail over the years. Rarely have I had the good fortune to find a suitable replacement.
