I want to make a laser using one of the 40mw 635 diodes but they use the case as LD+. I did not want to go through the trouble of isolation so I came up with idea and lab tested it. Seems to work great and it will let me short LD+ to batt+. What do you guys think?


Note the TO-220 and TO-92 packages have different pin outs

IDiode = 1.25/R
