I'd like to find out if there is currently a driver available (besided flexdrive v5) that could provide 450-500mA of current with one cell for red diode?

P.S. if there is no such thing what coulld I use with two cells?

Thank you very much in advance!

LM317 with 2 cells for sure ...somebody with more experiance with the latest drivers will better advise on a single cell .

Well, with the help of driver developers here I figured my options so far for one cell build are:

Blitzbuck v2 or v3 - will require replacing the potentiometer/resistor with another resistor to set the current (calculation available in respective thread).

X-drive v6 - lazereer sells 450 - 500mA versions.

FMT DRV V2 - thanks to the great manual provided I figured I could replace two resistors and set it to the necessary current.

In all cases (if I understood correctly) the diode will need to be isolated from the host (anodized heatsink or other).

Damn I been saying the groove 2 driver in like 3 or 4 threads for the red diodes...:can: anybody

Heres the link he is like the fastest shipper, distance wise, yet here is the link. Creative Technology Lasers - Your source for diode lasers and laser modules at green, red and other wavelengths. you get to keep your heatsink and choose to ramp up that current tooo.

Jander, groove is a linear driver. Manual says Vin = Vout +1.2? For red that will run at 2.7-3V my Vin would have to be 4-4.2V. I was interested in one cell builds (3 - 3.7V only) :( I'd consider two cell builds as a last resort option.
