Looking for High-Discharge 10440

Hey everyone.

For a build I want to do (probably won't be done for over a month), I will probably need a 10440 cell capable of safely outputting about 1A or so. However, I can't seem to find anything of the like - normal LiCo 10440s have a capacity of, at most, 350mAh, and can discharge generally around a maximum of 2C... I am looking for LiFePO4 10440s, because they would easily be able to handle it, but I can't find any.

Anyone know of any?

Eh... I don't like that it's an UltraFire. Those usually have very little capacity and low current handling ability.

I am looking to build a 10440 (Ultrafire A2, sexy host) powered 445nm unit. These'll be the ticket.

Anybody know if regular 3.7v chargers work for IMR's? IMRs have slightly higher charge-to voltages (4.25V i believe. My charger stops at about 4.16) so I reckon it would still work, just not fully 100% charge them perhaps.

Really interested in how these batteries & your build works out. I love small builds & I've always been a bit uncomfortable with li-ion.

Charge IMRs to 4.2V, just like Li-Ion.

monitor voltages. Dumb chargers may not terminate correctly, and if you didn't pay like, $50 for your charger, you probably have a "dumb" charger.

Those look like the same cells as the ones in my link earlier, except that they mention a manufacturer, so that's interesting.

Wolfman, what is the build you use these in?

I'm thinking about building a 10440 with a 445nm diode and at 1.5A on the diode it's gonna draw over 2A from the cell. So an IMR is a must in that situation. I think I should be able to come up with a workable design once I get a lathe/mill.

Duty cycle will probably be low. Good thing the multimode diodes are pretty durable.

Edit: I'm getting Ehgemus to build me a 10440 aluminum host... Should be able to have full on duty cycle to deplete an IMR cell in one shot in a full-aluminum host. :)

Probably should have some measure to prevent overdischarge but I know as long as I own it I'll be paying very good attention when I run such a laser.
