Hi all,

Here is my effort at at LM1085 linear driver, it's set at 570mA.

It's for the Laserer 3.8mm GB Red diode, my host is nearly finished so "it's a plan comming together".

I'll glue on the heat sink and may cut another in half to cool the resistor, taking care not to short it out.

makes me want to roll my own too. nice work! be sure to post pix of the finished laser. i think we're gonna see a lot of red builds posted once these diodes arrive.

Nice job I love seeing these from scratch drivers...

Just a little note that heatsink you have there will only do a small amount of cooling without a fan. You would be better off using a small chunk of aluminum or copper and heatsink it to your pill or host. I doubt it would make much difference at the ma your running at but I have tried copper ramsinks in a 1800ma build only to have them not do the job. There great if you can put a fan on them but you could get away with alot smaller piece of aluminum or copper sinked to the host.
