What do ya'll think of this 6 amp driver?

Specs:
Suply voltage 7 ... 12V DC
Output (drive) current 0 ... 6000 mA
Diode forward voltage 2 ... 5 V
Dimensions 25mm dia / 6mm thickness

Until I see the start up waveform I have no opinions about it.

What's the component "NPR1" ?

I initially assumed it was the diode, but then it would be connected between the inductor and the + out, which is an odd topography for a buck.

I've asked the seller, he's into lasers so might know. I Also asked if he knows whether it is a soft start or not.

Response to questions:

These drivers without visible soft start (about 50 ms), but the transients are minimized. What you see on the PCB is a KOA shunt.
