I've looked at a lot of data sheets, but this one - for some reason or another - was easier for me to understand than almost any other I have looked at before.

I have no idea if that IC is a good choice to build a driver from, but that is not my purpose in posting this. My hope is that it might help someone who was designing a driver understand the properties of the input caps, output caps, inductors and such better. It did for me.
Particularly, look at pages 10-14 for the information I am talking about.
For some of you, this may be basic electronics but for me it was a very clearly written explanation of how the IC was working and how to choose good support components for a driver.
