How are some of you guys powering 1700mA+ 445nm Diodes?

Twin Fledrives in parallel? Do they have to be set at identical outputs?
LM338 Voltage regulator (with killer heatsinking)?
Twin LM317? Can you even run LM317 in parallel?

What kind of current draw (@ 3V) does 1700+mA pull on a battery?

I wan't to make a killer labby. I found a copper brick (2"x2"x3") and want to make a massive labby. The while body will be a massive heatsink. I think I can machine it to fit two 18650 batteries with room to spare for driver(s) and the diode with focus ring.

It should be badass, but I want total cost to be <$100

Not going to happen for under $100. The 2 flex's and diode are going to be ~$100. Set both flex's in parallel around 900 mA each, and you should get close to the number you want.

Search button works good, you should try it. Or check out DTRs threads.

You can power your setup without the drivers if you have a PS with adjustable current and voltage. This might not be an ideal way to do this, but I have done it in the past with no problems!! A vet might come in here an bitch Me out for suggesting this, but it works and I have not killed a diode doing this yet.

Good Luck in any case.
