Help me find the correct power supply for this driver

Hey guys,

New here so hopefully this isn't a repost. I recently bought a 100mw green laser (diode and driver package) off eBay from china, and after receiving it I hooked it directly to a 3.3v supply for a computer PSU. After about 2-3mins of used the driver board was getting VERY hot, and I could already notice some 'flaring' of the beam point. Ongoing minimal use over the next 30mins ended up killing it completely.

Assuming that the driver required some current limiting that I didn't provide, I jumped on eBay and bought another one, which has arrived but Im apprehensive to power it up before asking someone in the know as to what kind of supply I need. I tried connecting an inline 10ohm 5W resistor to a variable voltage reg IC (set to 3V) but the laser wouldn't even initiate.

The link to the laser I have is here: 10mW 30mW 50mW 100mW 200mW 532nm Green DOT Laser Module With Driver Spring Wire | eBay

And heres a shot I took of the actual product:

Look forward to any ideas.

Cheers,
Wez.

3.1-3.3V is about right. The simple fact
is that these are not set up to run
continuously. One or more of the
transistors and brass module would need to
be heatsinked. I'm not as familiar with
that exact driver, so it would be up to you
to figure out which component is getting
hot and to heatsink appropriately. If you
have FLIR, it is really easy. If not, just
feel around until you find it. Stick a
piece of aluminum or copper to it with some
Arctic Alumina. For the brass module,
drill a hole in a finned CPU heatsink and
glue it in again with the Arctic Alumina.
