Groove V2 with SOC @ 140mA using a single li-ion??

Would a single Li-ion work well with a Groove V2 driving an LPC-815 (LOC) at only 140mA?
I know the Vf of those LOC/SOC diodes are only something like 2.4v @ lower currents.
So there should still be some overhead with the driver needing +1.2v...

I want to build a low power (~50mW red) pen style pointer using a single Li-ion cell.
Do you think I'd get decent runtimes from a 900mAh battery in such a configuration?
Would it be worth it to use a 635nm diode to get more brightness and less power?

Hey,

Yes it will work just fine with 1x 3.7v cell. I have a Groove driver set to 380mA with 1x 3.7v 14500 cell and it works Great.:D

380mA is around the Max i could get using the groove driver with 1x 3.7v 14500 cell Using it for a Red diode. I have not tested to see if i get better result with a 3.7v 18650 cell yet.

So using the Groove Driver at 140mA with 1x 3.7v cell will work Great. "Not sure with a 10440 though"

I never tested the runtime of my laser but i would say that the Runtime i was getting at 380mA was ~30+min of on time with the laser.

Hope this Helps. Let me know if you have anymore questions.
