Go back in the thread? Theres 17 pages! lol. I guess I will.

A couple questions though.

Is the output voltage high enough for bluray diodes?

Can these be modified to power red diodes?

Do you realize that 500g of solder paste would be enough to build your own Cray XT5?

I am yet to use up half of my 15g tube.

I don't know about cheaper per gram... but that's sort of irrelevant if there's no way humanly possible to use 500g on your own.

Go for a 15g tube, for $15. Until you actually reflow stuff, you may no realize how absolutely little of the stuff you actually need.

yeah, i've got a massive amount that i'll never use....2lbs of it i think.

the tubes looked smaller in the picture, like 10cc tubes, but they ended up being like 100cc

I thought of getting some 5cc syringes and 22g IV catheters and making it available to people who wanted it. with a single 5cc syringe you could probably reflow over 1000 boards.

Thank you Tom! I don't mind paying/wasting a few dimes per build to go with the grade 1 automotive IC.

Especially the +125°C spec.

cool man, automotive grade is a good choice

just imagine if they were making these for aerospace applications :D

*Facepalm*

The spec is the same. The +125C spec is the same for all of the LM3410s we've been using. The only difference that "Q" gets you, is supposedly improved defect detection AT the spec (of +125C) at the factory.

Lol, this isn't some magical version of the IC that can handle more heat....
