Well, you CAN mess it up. The most problematic issue I've run into is the impact of using too much paste. Use very little, you don't need much at all.

Yup, These pins bride each other very easily.
I'm using a 24 gauge iv catheter to apply the paste and i still have to be careful not to apply too much.

btw, I made the first driver yesterday and it worked great (according to the test load)

I'm still working on them today. Once i get some finised i'm going to take some close-up pictures of both sides.

Toaster Oven ftw
Reflow Oven Tutorial - YouTube

Good link/tutorial...

Here is an oven we built a while back... We used a PID controller.
It needs to be manually controlled for the reflow soldering curve
for now.. But it holds any temperature to within 1 deg which is
what we needed it for...

I really wish services like DorkBot would look into getting stencils made - or at least having the option to get stencils made for larger boards.

Yeah, I was thinking it would be worth it to get a stencil made for anybody making more than a few. You can get them for $25 from ohararp.com

Hey, this may have been discussed - but any thought to making this a sticky. This is a fairly important development. No?

I don't think this needs to be a sticky. It's not "required reading" in any way. I think this forum has way too many stickies. The result of which, is the fewer people pay attention to the really crucial stickies, because there are just so many of them.

I bought three Ben boost driver from Mohrenberg. Two of them are build in the dual driver setup. I have a problem with the third driver.
When I turn up the input voltage the current increases and if the voltage is dropped then the current decreases. It is basically a resistor. I think the driver is defect. What component can I change to repair it ?
