Last time I talked to the good dr he said that I was sent some of the last V5 drivers. <I have yet to receive, more than 10 days ago>

I looked on the order page and they are listed out of stock.:undecided:

anybody know more about this?

There's either a V6 coming or he simply is waiting on a manufacturing run to be shipped to him. There is still a need for a buck driver.

A V6 may becoming?
When DR. Lava introduced the V5 didn't he make a announcement before it came out?
If a v6 is coming, it could be a improvement geared towards us running our 445s at higher currents more efficiently:)

I've been hearing whispers of this as well.

I doubt he'd all-out discontinue his buck/boost driver, that's the most popular driver! Microboost has its uses, and it has very many nice features, but it's boost only. I understand the whole high-power InGaN laser boom has everyone in a frenzy, but I like my reds too...

Thanks for the info, can't wait to see the v6! Did he give any estimate of when it'll be released (though I'm sure he hasn't since they're not even developed yet, I was just wondering)?

i think he said it may be a few months before anything happens with a v6. from the way he talked hes a perfectionist and doesnt want to release anything that may not be perfect.

I'm glad to hear he takes a lot of care in producing his drivers... his are the only ones I use and I have never had a single problem from one yet. Heck, I still have an old v2 FlexDrive laying around... it was from my first 405nm laser build :)

He owns the market as far as choice goes. If you want to build a pen or pointer running on 3.5-4.2V.

Just got off the phone with drlava and he has decided that he will do another run of V5 FlexDrives... As I was urging him on, he said he would get the order rolling today... :)

He said that the V6 was months away, so he will go ahead and do another V5 order.

But it will be about a month before they are built, and available. So we have to be patient...

That's certainly good news, thanks! I'm surprised it'll only be a month, given the amount of time it takes to get everything in place for a production run, that's really pretty good.

Hopefully only an month...

There's an renewed demand with a few people maxing them out with a driver heatsink for a 445 build at 1.4 Amps...

And like you said Dave, we need them for the reds...

I need them for my Phaser kit as well. Since it has a sound board, and only 2 X AA supply, it needs a FlexDrive.

I have some smaller kits as well, that would be difficult to fit a Micro Boost into...

Thanks for that Jayrob!!!! Much appreciated and I'm sure will set many minds at ease.

Did you happen to ask him if there is going to be a Flexdrive V6 coming?
