The pliers teqnique is the best way, you have to go incredibly slow though. Search around some, there are some videos showing the exact method.

I don't suggest a file, files make dust which will get on your diode. Try to keep from making small particles around your diode at all times :D

I just hold one side in vise grips, and cut the thin section on the opposite side with small dykes. Then switch the tools around, and a little prying latter and the diodes come right out.

That's My Way. May not be the best way, but it works for Me.

what are dykes? I mean, the tool version....I don't have any dykes that I can spare to put to work on it at the moment:whistle:
