Default First Build, need HELP

I have gotten a PHR-805T diode and a 405/455nm 1W driver. I am clueless as to how to hook this thing up to the diode/ Ax case. Here is a link to the driver

From what I can find the PHR805 has a + connection, and ground/case connection, and the 3rd pin is not connected. The driver has a B- (spring thing), a B+ on the reverse side, and a R4 + / - right next to each other. I have everything else, goggles, heatsink. The input voltage is 3.7-4.2
Any ideas on how to hook this thing up? I have no schems on the driver, but it is apparently sold at diff places...

Thanks a million

1) I don't see a link....
2) would it not make more sense to ask the seller of the
Driver for information.....

Max current on that diode is about 120mA. If you can't adjust the driver down to under 120mA than you will need another driver.

From my understanding this driver
Automatically powers 445's at around 1A, and powers 405's at around 200mA

Your diode is going to fry if you try to use it with that driver

Thanks for all the help, It said "Laser driver designed for use with high powered 445/405nm laser diodes". I guess I'll have to look at another driver...

Wait. I just noticed this said 805t and not phr 803t.

Is the 805t different from the 803t? Anybody? Could it handle 200mA?

But yes, you should probably just get a
Flexdrive. That way if you want to upgrade or get a completely different diode, then u can always just switch out the diode and bump the current
Up!

My understanding was the 805T could handle 200mA (more than the 803T). I guess my next question would be how do I connect the driver to the diode? I assume R4 + connects to the diode + and the R4- connects to the diode case ground -. What does the spring connect to(B-)? Does the B+ on the reverse side go to battery +. See attached thumbnail..

Thanks again

The pads on the output side are made for diode's pins to solder them on - there's only one way to solder them all on the PCB. You can't go wrong there.

Battery negative goes to spring. Battery positive goes on the host, through it to the case pin of the diode.

EDIT - That's assuming you can provide the needed current with this driver.

We have little information regarding these new 805T diodes. Apparently they can take 120mA no worries, but then again, so can 803T. I believe the difference is in efficiency.

Either way, I do not think going over 120mA is wise.

After eud's post I would say, definitely get a new driver.

Cause from my understanding that driver will give it ~200mA no matter what 405 diode you hook it up to, so that would probably blow your diode.

Well it might be possible to solder on different resistors to get different current output...

But I doubt the OP is capable of such tiny soldering task - no offense, personal observation.

Yeah, I'd get a new driver if I were you.
