Does anyone have this charger? from O-like

Well, my charger stopped working, it's making a humming noise and its saying my batteries are charged even though they aren't.

The only one I have right now is this one (picture) when I put a mostly empty cell in it (18650) it shows a green light. Does this mean its charging? Does it change to red or anything or shut the light off when it's charged? How do I know this thing is working.


Also is there a charger at RadioShack for 18650's I'm going to check there site now, so I can avoid having a crappy charger till I can order one.

Normally red/blinking is charging and green is ready.

But I recommend this one if you do the wire mod. It charge all my 3.7V Li-ion battery to 4.2V when full.

Well, the label on the back of this charger is wrong. I just flipped the cell around and the red/orange light comes on.

These Chinese battery chargers are all the same...green means either the battery is not in right or it's done charging. When you put the battery in the light should be red then turn to green when it's done charging.

It also could be that the battery is bad. I had that problem once with a new Ultrafire 18650. One would charge and the other one was dead and would show the green lite and wouldn't charge.

It will charge one or two batteries. I also have one of these that will charge 18650's & 16340's with the adapter:

If you get one make sure it's for 3.7V and not 3V.

If the cell is discharged below about 2.7 volts as I recall, it won't start to charge for safety reasons.

I think you should edit the tittle with "Solved" because without reading post 3 you would not know. Just like I did.

If it's a 'protected battery' only it will shut itself down if it gets that low. You don't ever want to over charge these either. The protective circuitry in the battery will shut it down because these batteries (Li-ion) can become unstable if either over or under charged.

As for the thread, it's still good info.

I always worry about over discharging my batteries specially my 22.2 volt Lipo, I have a charging bag but have see some bad things happen. I actually had a NiMh get super hot and melted the leads of along with all of the coating on the battery and it was brand new, the first time I used it. Had a hell of a time getting it out of my RC car so it didn't melt it.
