Do you know if it's current regulated or voltage regulated? My bet would be on voltage...

Not sure, but i'd say current.
"Output Current: Lowering the value of 3A, long 1.8A " i'm assuming the lowering is with the Pot, and long 1.8A means for long operation, 1.8A is recommended

My bet's on voltage too, "step down" kind of indicates that it's meant for stepping down the voltage IMO

I think the pot is for adjusting the voltage output, I've used a similar module before and this was the case.

Edit: "Voltage regulation: 2.5%"

Yep, that's my thinking too. Would be good in a situation where the relatively low efficiency of something like an LM78xx won't work. That said, you can get little switching regulators that are drop in replacements for the TO-220 LM78xx chips which would probably be better suited.

I bought a few of these some years ago and they are voltage regulators. I was hoping at the time to convert one, but never got around to it.

Appreciate the info
I should research what regulator does what, but I have a few coming so might find a way to convert them, is the difference with regulation just the orientation of the output pins on the regulator chip?
Is there an easy way to tell a driver apart by looking at the layout?

Edit: just found this Quote from sticky:

"regulators can be made to be constant current; it's just how feedback is changed"

The quote you referred to was said mainly for linear regulators like the LM317. It can be a bit more complicated with buck regulators.
