Default Charging Li-Pos permanently in device

Hey LPF,

I recently started and completed my first laser build of an NES Zapper outfitted with a 445nm LED. I made my own driver based off of the DDL circuit and am currently running two 3.7v 1s batteries in series, with the driver drawing roughly 1.2 amps. I goofed on the capacity requirements and have since ordered a 20C 7.4v 1200 mah 2s Li-Po and 2s charger, the other batteries died after about 15-20 minutes. The problem is I want to be able to charge the batteries without disconnecting them from the circuit. So here is the question, how to do it? Do I wire the charge leads in parallel with the battery and driver? I was also thinking I could wire the leads in series and when it's not charging I could put a jumper on it to complete the loop. The goal would be to have the charge lead mounted to the original power cord through hole in the handle of the gun. Thanks in advance.

Joe

Default Re: Charging Li-Pos permanently in device

It is parallel. But internal resistances from batteries vary, so you need to charge one at a time, or use a balancer.
Each battery should receive 4.2V and everything will be ok
