I think the driver pill and brass ring are doesn't match each other.

see this pic

what is the right position?

I've assembled upside down, but it does not fit too tight.
(It almost does not fit in Pill)

Is it defective product?

No it is not a defective product. Your 2nd picture is the correct way to set the ring BUT don't do it yet!

Press the driver into the brass ring FIRST. Solder the brass ring and the driver's outer negative contact together.

Then, press them into the pill using a vice or a C-clamp (you need to press hard, it should be flush).
