Default Ben boost reverse polarity protection

I'm gona be building my self a few benboost drivers.

I ordered lastest revision of the board.
If I wanted, could I leave out the fet and just solder across the pads?

As long as I dont reverse the polarity this should be fine right?
as well as boosting the efficency by a wopping 1% lol

Link the the ben boost thread

You'll be fine bypassing but one wrong insertion and that driver/diode will die

Ya, i figured the driver would die but,
I would think that the diode would be fine?

I was just thinking about a build I was planing that would not have removable batteries.
making it pointless, unless at some point I decide to use that driver in another build...

EDIT:
might as well spend the .50 and buy it, couldnt hurt.

Yeah you can just leave it out, but only solder across the pads on the V+ side. One of the pads on the other side goes to ground.

Besides saving the ~$0.50 on the MOSFET...
Why do you want to remove that inexpensive protection...

The driver will still work without it... It is only there for
reverse polarity protection..

Just curiosity more than anything else.
The Only build I would consider this on is one with built in, non-removabe batteries.
