Hey all! I am planning to start a build with the Skyray King host! This host takes 4 x 18650s in parallel. I plan to use a boost driver, obviously, so i am wondering, as boost drivers are usually referred to as using a SINGLE cell.

A boost driver will work with 4x 3.7 volt 18650 (plan to use pannys) right?

As long as the voltage is 3.7+ ? The driver will boost equally from each battery?

Thanks guys. Also, if you have had experience with this host i would love to hear about it!

Thanks!

You forgot to mention what diode you're going to use. If it's a 445 or 405, boost is good. If it's a red or IR, no go.

If the cells are all in parallel, then it's to use a boost used for single cells. My fan cooled 9mm uses boost drivers on two paralleled panny 3400s.

I used THIS host on the Tridentis build. Great Quality. Because I used three (3) separate
9mm 445 modules, from DTR...each module had an X-Drive built in.....SOoooo....I needed 7.4 VDC. Not 3.7 VDC. I modified the battery compartment to bundle two (2) 18650 cells + two 18650 cells....That is ONE way to do it !!! but....it takes some creative hacking !!!!!

A few other points; You can use the 4mm thick screw-in bulk head plate ...that comes with the unit... to mount whatever you are going to use as a LD heat sink. So...you could use a solid Copper or Aluminum rod for your LD heat sink...and attach the rod to the screw in plate with a 1/4-20 bolt.
Also....you MAY have to change out the momentary I/O switch....as mine failed due the high current draw of the combined three (3) 445 modules.

Good luck !!!
