Default 405nm driver spring

This is my first post so bear with me...
I have recently bought this driver.
New 405nm 5 300mW Laser Diode Driver 1 5V Input Current Regulation | eBay
When looking at the wiring picture down the page I noticed that the spring appears to be labeled as positive. This threw me off because all the other drivers similar labeled the spring as negative. Like this one.
New 405nm 5 300mW Laser Diode Driver Reverse Protection 3 0 4 2V | eBay
Please clarify this for me.
Also I am not too sure how I would wire this to a power supply. Could someone also explain that to me.
Thank you!

Default Re: 405nm driver spring

The spring is indeed, the positive contact for the battery ( or power supply).

Negative battery is common with negative diode terminal.

Thanks Larry,
There is also a button on the driver. Is that my only option to use that button or can I wire one from the power supply?
Sorry for the noobish questions, it is my first laser and I want to do it right.

You can jump the contacts of the switch on the driver if you want to. Short the leads on the circuit board with a cleverly bent piece of wire or a solder blob. Be careful not to burn or melt or overheat anything, though, especially if you're not too handy with the solder like me.
