Would this driver: 445nm Laser Diode Driver | eBay
Be a good choice for a 1.5-2w 445 laser diode that i want to run at 1w at first but go to 1.5-2w later on? It has its own heat sink and fan, would this be easy to wire up and put in a host? Or do i have to have 2 mirco drivers cant seem to find a small driver that will run at 2w. I would build my own but cant find a diagram and parts list :yabbem: Any help would be appreciated, thanks. :yh:

That would be way too big to go in a host.
Get yourself a flexdrive v5
It can go up to 1.5A which means u can make it 1W, and then close to 1.5W at 1.5A

To get to 2W you would want to step up to 1.8A with two flexes or a 1.8A fixed jib drive.

Looks a little big to go "in" a host unless your host was huge.
It looks like it would work, but why buy this unless you are going to be building a projector and "need" the TTL or Analog modulation?
Two flexdrives in parallel won't work for you?

You could also use a flexmod p3, but you would need two cells instead of one, and once again a big ass host to put it in.
A flexmod or two flexes would be the easiest way to go from 1A(~1W) to 1.8A(~1.7-1.9W)

Thanks for advise, im ordering a host/heatsink with 1.25a driver installed tomorrow. uses 2 cr123 batterys, im hoping to swap it out for a liner 1.6a driver in few months maybe.

thanks guys

EDIT: scrap that, just bought one of DTR's flexdrive V5 pre wired pre set to 1.5a. will it be hard to change it to 900ma at a later date? so i could run 2 together. due to running it at 1.5a i have also bought a little heatsink.
